FLY FISHING IN THE MORVAN

Covering an area of 324,900 hectares,this vast granite massif boasts a radiant and welcoming landscape,complemented by numerous natural spaces that are a pleasure to explore year-round, whether on foot,horseback,by canoe or kayak or during mountain biking excursions through its forests and valleys, as well as to the summit of Haut Folin, which rises
901 metres of altitude as well as traversing its 6 large and majestic lakes adorned with gently undulating banks such as those of Pannecière, Crescent, Saint Agnan, Chaumeçon, Chamboux and Settons before discover places popular with
fly fishing enthusiasts and fans that we also pratice in the lakes and along the Loire river, but also in its wild rivers with
very fast-flowing waters teeming with trout bounding fish that feed the adjacent lakes alongside the corresponding
species,such as pike perch, zander, and catfish. Initiated from the 18thth century, fly fishing then developed very well over the following centuries, taking into account the technical advances allowing the manufacture of artificial flies and
alongside reels, lines and fishing rods specifically designed for this practice including equipment consisting of a rod or
"whip" made of carbon and a good reel which has a dual role,acting as both a line reserve and a brake in case of conflict
with a large fish of a silk line representing the lure's propulsion element, which must be "whipped" in order to achieve a
distance a casting rod , a backing which is a reserve of line attached to the reel on one side and to the fly line on the other, a leader located at the end of the fly line allowing the transition between the line and finally the fly,either a dry fly which is an insects imitation floating on the surface or a nymph and a wet fly representing larvae or nymphs of aquatic insects moving on the bottom or drifting in midwater, and also the streamer which is an imitation of a fry or a small fish either option being attached to the end of the leader.The outfit is also often completed with a hat or cap and a suitable
vest for storing the various fly boxes, leaders and spools of line, and trousers wading generally consists of a very great
waterproof overall, complemented by thigh boots allowing you to advance into the riverbed to be as close as possible the fish with their jerky and fluctuating movements.

And this begins on a submerged trail before discovering of the great Cure , a wild river with fast-flowing waters in the heart of the vast Morvan landscapes . Along with the Yonne and the Chalaux, it is one of the three flagship rivers of the park. It is also delightful to fish in the streams using grasshoppers found in the open meadows,a good ancestral fishing technique practiced by locals,which offers very pleasant surprises alongside its local character and the trout catches that provide wonderful memories. Fishing, like hiking and walking, is
an integral part of the experience favorite local leisure activities of the French, whether on foot, horseback, by bike or
during great games of fly fishing and discovering the Morvan Regional Natural Park is a pure marvel that allows you to
