     THE VAL D'ALLIER NATURE RESERVE
Discovering  a region by  venturing off the beaten track  is an enriching experience and
what could be more appealing than exploring the  Val d'Allier nature reserve, located in the  Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in the  Allier department, which will  be to offer you
the  opportunity to  discover its radiant  natural  spaces enhanced  by  rich and  diverse flora and fauna  while  also being an  ideal and great  stopover for migratory  birds that ornithology enthusiasts never tire of discovering.
Created in 1994, the Val d'Allier  National Nature  Reserve, located upstream from Moulins in the Allier department, is a territory  covering  1,450 hectares and  stretching  for  20  kilometers, notably  from the  the  cities  of Bessay  sur  Allier
Bressolles, and as far as Toulon-sur-Allier encompass natural spaces, each  as radiant as the next, running parallel to its river, considered one of the last great wild rivers in Europe incorporating  in addition to its easy access large islands and
sand and gravel banks that it is interesting to discover and observe  whether by canoe, on foot or during  mountain bike 
excursions along its gentle, undulating riverbanks, landscaped and signposted, especially for cyclists and enthusiasts of
hiking,  botany  and  ornithology  on  routes including  many  trails  well  suited  for  local  leisure  activities also  include
observation points, well balanced with environmental data, enhanced by encounters  with locals, guides, botanists, and members of the League for the Protection of Birds, complemented by the discovery of its history  and culture. Boasting magnificent landscapes where magical and enchanting colors emerge at sunrise,accompanying  the fauna and flora,the 
nature reserve of The Val d'Allier national park is a paradise for nature lovers including,in particular,45 mammal species including 9 bat species, complemented  by the  presence of the  beaver, the European  otter, and the European  wildcat
and where more than 600 plant species have been identified, which can be encountered and spotted during  walks and 
hikes and which delights botany enthusiasts,such as the members of the network of French-speaking botanists created in 2009, TELA BOTANICA, as well as its  classification as the  second most important  ornithological site in  France after  
the  Camargue, which  makes  it   a  privileged   area   throughout   the  year, especially   during  breeding   seasons  and
wintering area in parallel with also being a North-South migration route and an ideal stopover for migratory birds.

The Development and Preservation of Wildlife
