BOTANICAL PASSION IN THE CEVENNES PARK
Located  in  France in  two regions Occitanie and  Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and primarily encompassing three departments—Lozère, Gard, and Ardèche—the Cévennes National Park  is  a radiant  and welcoming  territory that  enchants with its beauty and diversity
of  its  natural  landscapes  enhanced by large  wild spaces close  to nature in its purest form which enthusiasts of botany and discovery of flora never tire of discovering.
Created on September 2,1970,the Cévennes National Park a territory covering 93,500 hectares composed of mountains mountain ranges  formed from four  distinct  geographical entities: the Aigoual massif, the Causse Méjean with the Tarn and Jonte Gorges, Mont Lozère, and  the adjacent Cévennes  valleys, is also classified as a Category 2 protected area by the World  Commission on  Protected Areas of the  International Union for Conservation  of Nature, in addition to being certified  as a  biosphere  reserve by  UNESCO  since  1985. Radiant  landscapes  where  magical  and enchanting  colors
appear at sunrise, the  Park is enhanced  with spaces that  are the privileged  domain of a rich and diverse flora with the
presence of more than 2250 species  of flowering  plants have been  recorded, representing 40% of the French flora and
covering 0.5% of the surface area of the national territory that one encounters and discovers during tours and hikes, and
and which delights enthusiasts of botany, as are in particular the members of the network of  French-speaking botanists created  in  2009, TELA  BOTANICA, which  currently  has  more than 64,000  members, as  Yves  CLAINCHE and Philippe
COURBET and Françoise LONCLE explained to me who are passionate botanists whom I met again at the  Col Du Minier near the departments of Lozère and Gard" One of the important  features of the Cévennes  National Park is the diversity
and unique  characteristics  of its  settlements .Its flora, with  both ecological  and geological conditions and contrasting Mediterranean, Atlantic, and  continental  climate  alongside a  wide variety of rocks, such as schist, is present limestone
or sandstone  and an  altitudinal  range between  300 and 1700  meters in altitude, parallel to large wooded areas where
in particular  plant species  predominantly known as  "Spring" also  taking into  account the  sunlight in the undergrowth  and the low foliage  density at this  time of year,  which allows us to  find species such as  daffodils, anemones and wood balsams,  wood   sorrel, as  well  as  blueberries, which  are  very  common, particularly  whether you  are  a  professional
botanist  or  a  passionate  amateur  botanist, forest  clearing  is always  a  pleasure  constantly renewing the pleasure of
discovering plant species  that vary in  their  shapes, colors,  and fragrances  and their uses,  whether ecological, medical
environmental or gastronomic"  told me these 3 passionate botanists while walking in the Randavel woods.

Preserving a Rich and Diverse Flora

Exploring the Cévennes National Park is an unforgettable getaway , as you'll discover numerous natural areas often shrouded in morning mists that blanket the foothills of its mountains and valleys like a cloud and reminiscent of an

Impressionist painting ,with a particularity that makes them pleasant to contemplate in these places ,expressing the diversity of our great territories while incorporating best practices in respectful ecotourism of the environment, in

of the environment, in parallel with the fact that it very benefits from a climate conducive to the development and

preservation of a rich and diverse flora, which can also be found in other natural great areas of the Park, including the

river and the stream banks, marshy areas and peat bogs, which are adorned with species including protected areas

where you can find, in particular, the Marsh Gentian, the Loire Sandwort, and colonies meadowsweet , water clover

and even the nectar-rich flowers of the Cévennes, such as yellow gentian or the Black thistles are prized by some

beekeepers for their properties well-suited to the Cévennes black bee and their honey production. After a outing through the village of Le Vigan, which is very welcoming thanks to its local architecture and typical flowered streets

Next stop: Mont Aigoual, which is also majestic due to its great shape and magnificent view of the Natural Park of the

national of the Cévennes to meet Sylvie LEBRETON and Patrick JEANTET, two botanists, in the middle of a debriefing after a session of surveying and note-taking, supplemented by photographs taken with the PULSATILLE association,

which organizes internships and botanical hikes with great nature stays."In fact, a plant is composed of 3 parts : the roots, the stem, and the leaves, and these 3 elements determine the plant's configuration, including" reproduction is

then ensured by the flowers and fruits resulting from their fertilization , which have very diverse forms depending on species, and the botanist, whether professional or informed amateur, is also involved to a certain extent a scientist

to a certain extent a scientist who studies botany or plant science in the field" Told me the two passionate botanists

while pointing their fingers at the radiant landscapes of the park , were in complete harmony with the park with its

layout, in an environment that often incorporates surprises at every turn not only is it also interresting to discover the

Park during mountain biking excursions in its many natural great areas , but it's also worthwhile to explore it further.

The Cévennes National Park delights not only those passionate about discovering flora , but also wildlife enthusiasts those seeking off-the-beaten-path excursions in this region, which is very unique in being so well preserved from any

excessive human presence that is fascinating to discover and which is a vibrant expression of its cultural richness and

environmental and the men and women who bring it to life.
